How do you know that you are infertile?

Everyone starts with the same dream of a family. Meeting someone special, falling in love and when the time is right starting to have children. It can be devastating when you come to find this dream is not easy to make a reality. For most couples not using contraception, pregnancy should be achieved within a year. If this has not happened you may need to seek help from a physician. If the female partner is over 35, it is encouraged to seek help after 6 months of trying to conceive.

The first step is getting basic infertility testing. These tests results help to diagnose what is preventing conception and guides the infertility doctor in selecting a patient’s treatment. Because about 40% of infertility is attributed to male factor, it is essential that the male be tested as well as the female. The majority of the time these initial diagnostic tests will provide an accurate diagnosis. Infertility testing is designed to answer 3 basic questions related to

How to Diagnose Male Infertility

Although many people still think of infertility as mostly a female problem, the male partner’s role is just as important. In fact, about 40 percent of infertility cases are due to the female partner and about 40 percent are due to the male partner. An additional 10 percent are due to a combination of both partners, and for the remaining 10 percent, the cause ofinfertility is unknown.

It makes sense. It takes two to make a baby, and there can be problems with one or both partners. It is important to understand that men undergo fertility problems as well and have a biological clock too, like women. Their biological clock is definitely very different to that of women’s as they undergo deterioration in the fertility levels much later, around their 60s whereas women face it during their early 30s. We are hopeful that your own Forbes listed best IVF specialist Dr. Anubha Singh, and her core health care team, and this blog will serve as a wonderful resource for you.

How to diagnose male infertility?

A semen analysis is a simple, quick test that should be conducted early to help identify any issues with male infertility. The results of a semen analysis can provide insight to the overall quality and quantity of your sperm. The semen analysis focuses on four parameters:

  • Semen volume is the amount of ejaculated semen. According to the 2010 World Health Organization (WHO) standards1, normal semen volume should be at least 1.5 ml.
  • Sperm count is the concentration, or number of sperm in the semen. Ideally, the semen should contain at least 15 million sperm per milliliter of semen. Generally, the more sperm, the more likely one will meet and fertilize an egg. When sperm count drops, so does the chance of

Say No to Tobacco

Tobacco usage has always been seen as controversial, despite scientific proof of its health risks. Since its inception in the 16th century, tobacco usage has been seen as a bad habit by many cultures. Tobacco is mostly consumed in the form of bidi, followed by cigarette, hukah, chilum, sutta, and other forms. Smokeless tobacco use (sometimes known as tobacco chewing) is also highly popular. Khaini, Mainpuri tobacco, mawa, mishri, and other types of smokeless tobacco are prevalent.

Many of us are aware of the diseases induced by tobacco smoking, which include mouth cancer, laryngeal cancer, esophageal cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, and cervical cancer. However, various research investigations have found that smoking or eating tobacco in any form increases the chance of infertility, particularly in males, as well as the risk of osteoporosis, bone fractures, and early age wrinkles. Despite the well-established negative effects of smoking on health in general and the male reproductive system in particular, tobacco use continues to rise significantly among persons of all ages. Tobacco has a deleterious impact on sperm parameters, seminal plasma, and

When diagnosed with infertility it is important to know that fertility problems are common and can vary also. Infertility is a common problem according to the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, infertility currently affects about 10 to 14 percent of the Indian population, with higher rates in urban areas where one out of six couples is impacted. Three common reasons in women include:

But there are many reasons which must be investigated in both men and women like:

5 facts about fertility you all should know

As the New Year 2020 has started and we are coming to January end so, I am sure many people around the country may be thinking about starting their family or still trying to conceive. It's very important to know that everyone's fertility journey is different; some people might conceive in one go and some may take a forever’s time but when planning for the future, there's a number of important fertility facts that everyone should keep in mind.

1. Male fertility is linked to sperm

In about 4 out of 10 couples, a condition which might reduce fertility is found in the male. The most common cause of male infertility is a problem with sperm. Sperm may be low in number or may not be as good at swimming as they should be.

The ideal temperature for sperm is 35ºC, so to maximize sperm count, loose undergarments and cool baths can help. There's lots of evidence to suggest men who work outside have higher sperm counts than those with a desk job.

2.  Excessive alcohol consumption and smoking can impact your chance of pregnancy

In women smoking reduces the oxygen supply to a woman's eggs and rots them. Additionally, smoking cuts the blood flow to the uterus and lowers sperm count and its quality. Men and women will see an almost instant boost in fertility if

Best way to choose a fertility specialist?

Searching for an IVF specialist is such a big task as there are numerous IVF doctors available across the world. Also, not to mention discussing an issue like infertility which is quite a social taboo even in this day and age is also such a big question it-self. Today, as an infertility expert let me help you out explaining about the traits one should look out for in an IVF specialist.

Let us consider below points while selecting your IVF Expert:

1. An IVF Expert should answers all your questions and doesn’t dismiss them as being trivial. Believes the only stupid question is the one you don’t ask. Responds to your email (usually within 24 hours) and doesn’t force you to come in for every little problem.

2. An IVF Expert should be fully staffed, with a full-time experienced embryologist, so he/she does not have to depend upon external experts.

3. An IVF Expert must respect you and treats you like an intelligent adult. He/She should not talk down to you and does his/her best to educate you, so you have realistic expectations of your IVF treatment.

Age matters to fertility

These days more couples are delaying starting family into early mid-thirties’. The golden age
for women to conceive in their third decade of life that is their twenties. As more women are delaying getting pregnant, it is even more important that they try and maintain healthy life style to maintain optimum fertility.

Women’s age plays an important role in their fertility, women are born with around 4-5 million eggs which remain in a quiet stage until they reach teenage years. From teenage onwards, there is a slow and steady loss of the follicles and only 400,000 – 500,000 follicles remain. The process of the drop in quality and quantity of eggs gathers pace around the mid-thirties’. It gains even more pace in late thirties and later as women enter into their 40’s. The chances of getting pregnant for women in their 40’s can be as low as 5% when compared to
25% in their twenties.

Infertility is a common problem now. Although women are to be blamed for that almost

Lifestyle plays a vital role in our fertility issues. For example what we take inside our body directly impacts on fertility if we drink alcohol or smoke regularly it badly affects our fertility.

Studies have shown that certain nutrients if we consume on a regular basis can directly impact the sperm quality in men and can ultimately results in improved pregnancy rates. Many times it is said that low levels of Vitamin E can cause impotence in men. Lack of vitamin E also causes low sex drive and infertility. Causes of female infertility

There are two types of infertility:
Primary infertility: where someone who has never conceived a child in the past has difficulty conceiving.
Secondary infertility: where a person has had one or more pregnancies in the past, but is having difficulty conceiving again. It is estimated that 1/3 of the causes of infertility are associated with male factors such as poor sperm quality, 1/3 attributed to female factors. Three of the most common conditions that contribute to early female infertility are pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome.

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is an infection of the female reproductive organs, usually caused by a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Although PID can often be treated quickly and effectively, if left untreated, it can lead to infertility. As well as increasing your risk of having an ectopic pregnancy, scarring or abscesses in the fallopian tubes can make it difficult for you to get pregnant if eggs cannot pass easily into the womb. It's estimated that about 1 in every 10 women with PID

Other emotional disturbances such as depression and anxiety can lower your fertility levels. You should be calm and in a balanced state when trying to conceive. Tips to fight with male infertility

BPositive Magazine

Infertility as we all know is unable to conceive but being unable to make your wives pregnant is known as male infertility. Earlier infertility is considered as women’s problem but many researches have been done in the past which says that men are equally responsible for being infertile.  Today your profession and lifestyle plays a vital role in your fertility like if:

  • You sit on chairs for longer period of time as it can overheat your testicles
  • You place laptops over your lap for longer time; working laptops prompted a greater increase in scrotal temperature — around a 5 degrees Fahrenheit increase (or about 2.7 degrees Celsius) resulting in low sperm count and unhealthy sperm too
  • You wear too tight pants or under wears as it damages the testicles; causes low sperm count and can cause infertility in men
  • You are expose to pesticides or some industry toxins then also chances of catching up infertility are high
  • You smoke or drink too much alcohol
  • You had any past tumors or cancer,
  • And if you are stress which directly affects your fertility are few factors that contributes to male infertility

So here are few essential tips for men to help to fighting infertility:

1. Give up drinking and smoking:
Even if you see a doctor he/she will give first advice to quit smoking and drinking as it badly affects the sperm count. The harmful ingredients in tobacco smoking can kill sperm cells. On the other hand alcohol does you no good either. If you consume too much alcohol then it can reduce libido and affect sperm quality not only this it also destroy the quality and structure of sperm too.

2. Stay away from stress
Do away with stress from your life as it interferes with the sperm-producing hormones making it difficult to make your wife pregnant. To combat stress
